Athlete Who Represented UK, Begs To Compete For Nigeria At The Commonwealth Games (Photos)

Team Nigeria’s sole representative in the men’s High Jump at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, Mike Edwards, is appealing to the IAAF to rescind its earlier decision stopping him from competing at the Games which kick off next week.
According to Making of Champions, the 27-year old high jumper has become the latest victim of the IAAF’s indefinite freeze on the transfer of allegiance process, which was put in place on February 6 last year, largely for the purpose of protecting vulnerable African athletes from being poached by other nations.
However, Edwards was named on the Nigerian team to the Commonwealth Games in February, and revealed that he had been cleared by British Athletics to compete for Nigeria. The jumper is already in Australia for the Games and had been accredited by the Commonwealth Games Federation, only to receive a call from the IAAF telling him he was ineligible to compete at the Games because he represented Great Britain at the European Junior Championships nine years ago.
Edwards, who has a Jamaican father and Nigerian mother, has now picked a spot at the Games Village where he’s going to stand every single day in order to bring some awareness to his plight, while hoping that the international governing body changes its earlier stance before the competition begins.
He took to his Facebook page to share this:
“No shame. I’ll stand here every day until IAAF makes a change. It’s wrong what they’re doing. I’ve come too far. I’ve sacrificed way too much to fold at the Commonwealth Games. Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games
“As a law abiding dual citizen of Great Britain and Nigeria, I should have every right to represent #TeamNigeria regardless if I chose to represent my birth country GB almost a decade ago, at a Jr. level Championship.
“I may not be the most decorated athlete in the world but I’m resilient. Remember, it’s been nine years since my last major Championship. I don’t quit easy… This sign is a representation of the levels I’m willing to take it too. I just want to compete. Call me back IAAF”

Nigeria to help other nations find missing planes ON MARCH 28,

If the claims by the National Space Research and Development Agency, NASRDA, are anything to go by, Nigeria may have become the centre of satellite businesses in the world. It is even more interesting considering that the feat is achieved with locally designed nano Satellite, which appears now to be the technology other countries would have to rely on, should their planes go missing. Nano satellites are miniaturised satellites of low mass and size, usually under 500kg. They are scientific satellites that study environmental parameters and help mostly in environmental issues. They study environmental characterisation and also acquire valuable data with the aid of the cameras attached to them. The agency is claiming that the newly launched nano satellite has the capacity to locate and track every aircraft within and outside Nigerian airspace. The newly launched satellite is the first nano-satellite in Sub-Saharan Africa designed and built by Nigerian engineers and scientists. The satellite was launched from the Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, USA to the International space station and released from the Jasack Module into the appropriate orbit. The Director-General of the agency, Prof. Mohammed Seidu, said: “I am happy to be part of a country that launched a nano satellite with modern tracking technologies of the airspace. Since launch, we have been orbiting and are in touch with our ground receiving station. The beauty of it is that the ground receiving station was also locally designed and built by our engineers, which means, the coding is known by us and through that, we are able to do a number of things with it.’’ According to him, the ground station of the satellite was built locally in Nigeria and was established in Florida through the base. He said the nano-satellite affords operators the opportunity to see the Nigerian airspace and as well, track all the aircraft within and outside Nigerian airspace. ‘‘With the Nano satellite, every aircraft within a particular location above us is located, through a special antenna which serves as base station. From the aircraft position, we navigate all the airspace via this antenna, while the ground station also gives accurate data of every air traffic to the control systems. That is why it helps us to keep a surveillance of every aircraft that flies above the airspace. Seidu said if the satellite was around when the Malaysian plane was reported missing, it wouldn’t have taken time before Nigeria located it for them. He said: “Like the Malaysian aircraft that got missing, with this system now, we can keep tabs on every aircraft that flies to every location around the world. If it flew within Nigeria, we know the time, the date it flew and it is very cost effective. It can also give you the speed, distance, height, the type of aircraft and then the route it is heading to. ‘‘From the cockpit of the aircraft, we were able to make a triangular quadrant of how planes navigate. With the satellite, all the aircraft within our airspace can be seen real time. Through this system, we have records of all the aircraft that previously flew over Nigeria, including the day, time and date they did.’’ Unfolding plans towards mass deployment of the antennae across the length and breadth of Nigerian airspace, Seidu said the agency was already working with the Federal Aviation administration to get mandate to change the conventional radar system that we have in our airports, adding that with the new technology, flight movements in and outside Nigeria would be easier because it is real time and very cost effective. He also noted that the satellite could guide the pilot in navigating his way in a more convenient way. However, Nigerian engineers are divided in opinion over the claims. Some who spoke to Hi-Tech on the new development described it as a bogus claim while others said it was long overdue for the country to have such satellite considering the country’s position in Africa and  role it plays in EECOWAS monitoring group, ECOMOG. Engr. Alphonsus Ezeibe said: “I get tired of people making exaggerated and unsubstantiated claims over very little feats. How did they know the recently launched nano satellite can track and locate planes outside Nigeria’s radar? What is the size of a nano satellite? If the satellite can do all that with its moderate cost, why would any country ever need a bigger satellite which costs fortunes? He added that “if the country was able to launch a nano satellite to solve our domestic surveillance problems, particularly with earth station designed by fellow Nigerian engineers, that’s a feat worth celebrating. But we must leave it at that without making bogus claims that may blow on our faces tomorrow if called for action.” However, another Engineer, Ademola Tajudeen, said there was nothing strange about it. “Nigerian engineers are sound. In fact, we are making waves across the world. Designing and launching a surveillance satellite that can help us and others is long overdue. We are the giant of Africa and should be seen leading in such technological advancements. Besides, it is also going to help this economy as the world would need our services on such satellite matters and invariably make us the centre of satellite businesses. “We should maintain what we have achieved, it could be our meal ticket. The airspace is getting more dangerous by the day and rendering services when it is required could help build a solid Nigerian economy,” he added. The issue of missing planes has become a global concern. In recent times, a number of aircraft have been declared missing in different countries, without information to their location of crash. For instance, Malaysian Flight MH370 disappeared en route Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014 with 239 people, mostly Chinese on board, in one of the world’s greatest aviation mysteries. Four years after, Malaysia government has kicked off a fresh search for the missing aircraft and has agreed to pay U.S. firm Ocean Infinity up to US$70 million, if it finds the plane within 90 days.

Dietitian reveals the foods that can trigger a breakout – and what you should eat more of to make your skin glow

If you suffer from acne, you may want to look at changing up your diet.
According to dietitian Lyndi Cohen, the food we eat, and our eating habits, have a direct impact on our skin’s health – especially if you have ‘problematic’ skin.
While there is still debate on whether certain foods directly cause acne, some can trigger hormonal fluctuations and inflammation – leading to breakouts.
FEMAIL spoke to Lyndi for some expert tips on the foods we should be avoiding and the ones that can help us achieve clearer, healthier skin.
‘Problem skin usually develops in response to hormonal changes, which is why teenagers tend to be more prone to breakouts,’ Lyndi said.
The main reason this occurs is because androgen hormones tend to spike in puberty, which can cause sebaceous glands to become enlarged and produce excess oils.
This in turn clog pores, which can result in pimples.
But the dietitian explained as people get older, a combination of factors, including diet, can also lead to hormonal issues.
‘Drinking too much alcohol, stress, not enough sleep and eating highly processed, sugary and fatty food will not be good news for your blood sugar levels, mood or skin, hair and nails.’
That means if you are trying to manage breakouts, it’s worth taking a closer look at what you eat.
One of the main triggers for acne is inflammation, which means white bread may be something you may want to look at removing from your diet.
Some studies have revealed a link between gluten and those who suffer acne because gluten sensitivity can show as skin problem.
To assess if this could be the cause of your breakouts, speak to a dietitian to see if a gluten-free diet could work for you.
If flare-ups are a persistent problem, processed or refined carbs including bread, pastries, white pasta and white rice and potato chips should also be avoided.
Instead, Lyndi recommends trying to including whole grains and slow-burning carbohydrates in your diet.
‘These include foods such as oats, chickpeas, lentils and beans, brown rice, sweet potato and corn,’ she said.
‘They will help stabilise your blood sugar levels and prevent the highs and lows that can contribute to acne and cause skin redness.’
Sugar is another common trigger for people with acne, and is best avoided, the dietitian suggested.
This is because steep insulin spikes increase the production of oils and contribute to the clogging of follicles

‘Black Panther’ is Officially the Biggest Superhero Movie in U.S. Box Office History

’ IS OFFICIALLY THE BIGGEST SUPERHERO MOVIE IN U.S. BOX OFFICE HISTORY

We knew it was going to happen, and now it has: This weekend, Black Panther will cement its place as the top-earning superhero movie of all time at the U.S. box office.
The current Friday-Sunday estimate of $16.6 million for Black Panther will bring its cumulative domestic total up to $630.9 million (h/t Deadline). That gives it a small-yet-not-insignificant lead over The Avengers, which ended its May-September, 2012 run with a domestic take of $623.3 million.
It’s still early in the weekend, and Black Panther‘s estimate is likely to shift in either direction. But there’s little chance of the current estimate falling by the $7 million it would take to leave Marvel’s latest in second place for one more day.
Black Panther‘s box office success is all the more noteworthy in the context of the Marvel blockbuster it is poised to unseat. The Avengers was Marvel’s first major superhero ensemble effort, and it arrived at precisely the moment the Marvel Cinematic Universe reached peak popularity.
Eleven other MCU releases have come and gone since The Avengers dropped, and not one of them — not even the epic Captain America: Civil War smackdown, which included Spider-Man’s MCU debut — came close to #1. The Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron, is the next one down on the list, with a total domestic box office of $459 million.
Black Panther did it. Box office lists don’t account for inflation, though the six-year gap separating Marvel’s top two box office hits makes that much less of a factor here. Especially since Black Panther is only in its sixth week of release and its box office bounty is sure to grow.
The big question now is: How long will this record hold?
The next Avengers movie, Infinity War, is only a few weeks away. The Avengers movies have historically been Marvel’s biggest box office performers, and this one is sure to benefit from a number of advantages.
For one, it’s a story that Marvel has been building up to since pretty much the beginning of the MCU, when the Tesseract was introduced all the way back during the initial “Phase One” wave of releases.
It’s also a major ensemble piece, drawing in heroes (and villains!) from virtually every other MCU movie to date. In addition to the allure of seeing more than 40 familiar faces duking it out on screen, Infinity War benefits from bringing in moviegoers from all corners of MCU fandom.
By extension, Infinity War only benefits from its proximity to Black Panther‘s release. Even putting aside the far-reaching cultural impact of its majority-black cast and thematically relevant storyline, its critical and commercial success overall represents a high point for the MCU. That wave alone should carry Infinity War to a massive box office

Super Eagles: Always Flattering to Deceive

The  are on a wave of high. The goodwill is immense and the followership is even crazy. Heck, our Jersey is even rated as one of the best heading into the  in .
The team has been impressive albeit not with a crisp playing style of football.
Dispatching oppositions match after match with Poland the latest victim to fall at the sword of the Nigerian team but we’ve been here before.
Almost all the time we start our World cup preparations we usually blow teams away and build up hope of a fantastic participation at the World cup. We even always unearth new gem at this stage who will have a good spell in the team and end up making the flight to the World cup only for him and the whole team to flatter to deceit.
We will be making the World cup appearance as one of the youngest team which that’s a discussion for another day but in truth, the team had got massive prospect. With nothing to lose, we can always be daring and adventurous that is what has propelled this team. Still, we need to be realistic about our chances.
The Super Eagles will not win the World cup at best, the quarterfinals but what will be a successful tourney will be us making it to the Semifinals which no African team has been able to ever pull that off. A tough ask it’s but it’s possible. No one saw us coming to win the last Nations cup that we did and yes, the World cup is not the Nations cup but football is football. Portugal rode their luck during the last Euros and despite being one of the poorest team they ended up winning the championship.
Optimism is good but let’s be realistic as well. The team has a good spirit about it but it will need more than that to excel. The goalkeeping area in particular is a major source of concern which we need to address since the abrupt retirement of one of the best in the world in Vincent Enyeama we haven’t been able to find a capable replacement. Carl Ikpeme would have been a good choice but due to ill luck we lost him to cancer which he’s still treating. Concerns about the midfield as well but all these we can address and hopefully fix before we jet out to Russia
We can get excited but let’s not get carried away because we’ve been here before and we know how the story ends

Trouble as FG Discovers Over 75,000 Thost Police Officers Across Nigeria

The federal government has said that it has discovered 78,315 ghost officers in the Nigeria Police Force.
The Nigerian Tribune reports that the ministry of finance recently discovered that the payroll of the Nigeria police had been stuffed with over 70,000 fake personnel.
It was also gathered that the federal government has been able to save N68 billion on personnel cost in 2017.
Sources within the presidency said despite opposition from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) reports has shown that there were thousand s of ghost officers within the force.
One of the sources said that before the enrollment of the police force in the IPPIS, the federal government was paying salaries and emolument of 370,000 personnel.
He however said that only 291,685 names of police personnel appeared on the salary schedule for February.
He added that the president has also ordered the accountant general of the federation to ensure that all forces of the Nigerian military are enrolled into the IPPIS before the end of 2018.
The source said: “As at 20th March 2018, the number of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) on IPPIS payroll is 511 with 316,158 staff count with a gross salary of N43,979,383,997.79 and 42 police commands and formations paid on IPPIS platform in February 2018 with a staff count of 291,685 and gross salary of N22,276,669,257.21.
“Staff of para-military agencies (Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Prison Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps) enrolled to date is 100,882 for which a trial payroll of N11,456,278,859.00 have been sent for review and update for April 2018 payroll,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, had informed the cabinet at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that savings made through IPPIS were achieved despite increased in police personnel.
She said the introduction of the IPPIS had resulted in the reduction of ghost workers’ syndrome as the system has become an assured source of internally generated revenue through payee to states and federal government.
She said: “There is need to kit IPPIS stakeholders to overcome challenges for effective and efficient service delivery at all times.”
The couple and seven others through a crafted ghost workers scheme submitted their account details to the civil servants who then added it to the government’s payroll.
Also joined in the matter were six civil servants identified as Osuntope Opeyemi, Aderibigbe Taiwo, Usman Dayo, Johnson Adedokun, Oyebade Ayodeji and Ojeifo Sylvanus

Chinese baby born with 3 legs undergoes 10 hour complex surgery to have extra limb removed

A Chinese baby born with three legs due to an extremely rare fault in pregnancy has had the extra limb removed.

Surgeons revealed the extra leg didn’t belong to the boy. It was the remnants of his partially formed, parasitic twin.
Parasitic twins arise when identical twins fail to separate, and the condition occurs in around one in a million live births.
It is unclear why this occurs, but may be due to a restricted blood supply during pregnancy, which leads to the death and partial absorption of one of the twins.
Xiao Fei and his family come from far-flung Xinjiang in western China.
His parasitic twin hadn’t been detected prior to his birth because his mother had not undergone regular pregnancy checks, said the report.
After Xiao Fei was born, his family took him across China to look for treatment and they were finally admitted into the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Centre.
The boy’s surgeon Chen Qiu described Xiao Fei’s condition as ‘highly complicated’.
Mr Chen told Shanghai Dragon Television ahead of the operation that Xiao Fei’s middle leg would be removed because it did not have any function.
However while Xiao Fei’s right leg would be kept, it was born deformed because its foot was shaped like a hand and could not function properly.
Therefore, Mr Chen said he and his team would not only remove Xiao Fei’s middle leg, but also cut off the foot on Xiao Fei’s right leg before transplanting the foot on the extra leg onto his right leg.
In addition to the parasitic twin, Xiao Fei was diagnosed with a series of other conditions, including an undescended testicle, abdominal hernia and congenital heart disease. These conditions increased the difficulties of the operation, said Mr Chen.
Bao Juan, the director of the Department of Urology of the hospital, said surgeons would bring Xiao Fei’s right testicle down from the abdomen to its usual place during the same operation.
The operation started from 10am and finished at 7:35pm. Surgeons claimed it a success.
Xiao Fei’s father Ma Xiaolong told Shanghai Dragon Television: ‘I thank the doctors very much. I was so nervous sitting outside the surgery room, but now after I see my child, I’m not nervous any more.’
Zhu Tongyu, the director of Shanghai Public Health Clinical Centre, said the success of the operation was significant because of the rarity of the condition.
Mr Zhu also said the operation could ensure Xiao Fei to live a relative normal life, however Xiao Fei’s kneecaps are missing, so further surgery will be planned when the boy grows a bit older

‘I Stopped wearing Hijab in 2014 and Started Acting P0rn’ – Lady Reveals (Photos)

A Twitter user identified as Jade Jordan took to the platform to share throwback photos of when she was still a Muslim and also wore the hijab.
The lady who wore a hijab from age 3 to 20, eventually stopped being a Muslim, took up P0rn features as a career and also got married.
Her tweets read;
Funny fact: I was actually born and raised a MUSLIM (I’m not muslim anymore BY CHOICE). My real name is said in the video. You have to watch it to find out what it is.
I wore a hijab from age 3 up until age 20. I stopped in 2014, when I stopped being muslim. A few months later, I started doing P0rn. Here is my baby and I 🙂
I got rid of all my yearbooks, because I used to be so heartbroken that I used to be apart of something that brought me so much pain, but I’m in every year book from my old school wearing a scarf.
I need to get my genealogy done. I was born in America though. My parents are hard core religious fanatics. So growing up it felt like I lived in another country.
Wasn’t interested anymore. Didn’t speak to me. I didn’t feel connected to it.
Gonna make a youtube video talking about my journey from MUSLIM to P0rnSTAR in a few days. In the meantime, here is a pic of me from high school…
People pirate my manyvids videos, but I’m not mad. Hubby used to pirate software and entire studio albums back in the day. It’s unfortunate business-wise, but I know y’all don’t have money. I grew up in a transitional home, so I get it. I’m still doing DMCA takedowns though!!!!
I’m happy we get to share the experience of being free and truly being ourselves with people who are important to us. Our supporters mean everything to us. I have never been so happy. Thank you!
