Owners Of Cash, Property Where EFCC Made Discoveries In Lagos Revealed

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), yesterday discovered $43.4m, £27,800 and N23.2m in a house in Ikoyi, Lagos.
According to SaharaReporters, the owner of the money and the properties where the money was discovered has been revealed.
While the money is said to belong to the sacked Managing Director, Operations at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, the online platform which  quoted a source said the residential building located at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, where the money was discovered belongs to  a former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu.
Mu’azu, who was also governor of Bauchi State 1999 and 2007 has however denied ownership of the house of the house.
One Akin Oyegoke who identified himself as the “Media and ICT Personal Assistant” to Mr. Mu’azu reportedly called from London to deny that the former PDP chair owns the building.
“Mr Muazu does not own any house in Ikoyi except his house at Walter Carrington street, Victoria Island Lagos,” Oyegoke said.
He also denied that his boss ever lived in the apartment where Saharareporters noted he maintains a Penthouse.

But Etco Nigeria Limited, a construction firm partly owned by an Israeli company, Electral Limited, which prides itself as haven built several residential and corporate complexes in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos including the property at No 16 Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, listed Mu’azu as owner of the house in their website.
Sources close to the ex-PDP chair have also confirmed that he is indeed the owner of the property.
Mu’azu fled Nigeria in 2015 after the party’s candidate, Goodluck Jonathan was defeated in a Presidential Election that brought the opposition All Progressives Congress party to power.
He has since been declared wanted by the EFCC for engaging in massive corruption. He is believed to be living between theUk and Malaysia aided by a luxurious private jet he purchased after 2015 election in Nigeria.
On the other hand, the alleged owner of the cash, Nnamdi-Ogbue, was sacked alongside other three top Managing Directors at the NNPC over the ‘missing’ petrol scandal involving Capital Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited owned by businessman, Ifeanyi Ubah.
In 2016, the cook who served Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, absconded with cash and pieces of jewelry worth $6million in 2016.
The cook, Mr. Gabel Segbedji, a national of Benin Republic, took off with the loot in a Toyota Camry car, which also belonged to her boss.
The operation leading to the discovery was followed by a whistle blower’s confidential alert received by the Commission this morning.
