‘5 Niger Delta Avengers’ arrested in Warri





The Nigerian Navy has arrested five suspected members of pipeline terrorists and economic saboteurs, Niger Delta Avengers.
The Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Mohammed Garba, paraded the suspects on Tuesday at the Naval Base, Warri.
The arrested militants are believed to be responsible for last weekend’s multiple attacks on pipelines of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
The attacks took place in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Navy also said five vessels, five barges and 72 Cotonou boats used for illegal oil bunkering were also seized.
